AMT-5 Product Range Overview

The Trantek MST AMT-5 architecture features Public Address, two-way intercoms, information displays and discrete inputs and outputs within a network that supports multiple redundant paths and multiple always-active command and control devices without the need for special arbitration or switching devices.

In the AMT-5 architecture Public Address comprises individual self-amplified speakers directly connected to a network. These speakers are grouped dynamically over the network to form zones. Any audio that is streamed on the network is tagged to belong to a designated group and only members that belong to it will reproduce it. A group may consist of an arbitrary number of speakers or PIP devices either nearby or in disparate locations like a door group with all speakers that are near doors. It can be anything from a single speaker or PIP device up to all speakers within a train. Because each device is individually addressed on the network there is no need for additional cabling or zoned amplifiers. Similarly Intercoms can be grouped or treated individually either as two-way intercoms or in a single direction either to listen or to act as part of a public address zone. The AMT management and control functionality then allows several controlling nodes to take simultaneous action to broadcast audio or receive calls from PIPs. The AMT system dynamically allocates the optimum network path and control nodes.

The AMT architecture offers an On Board Communication System with unparalleled flexibility and, in particular when compared with traditional digital/analogue solutions, offers:

  • Lower project risk by accommodating multiple zones, multiple priorities and requirement changes during the project without any changes in hardware
  • Simpler wiring
  • Lower equipment count
  • Lower system complexity
  • Fault tolerance
  • No single point of failure
  • Each speaker has its own integrated noise and volume sensing microphone and audio processor
  • Dynamic health monitoring
  • Automatic discovery of AMT-5 elements in a network

Non-AMT-5 devices can be integrated using the various AMT-5 gateway options available.
